FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BELEZA SAMBA SCHOOL offering funded places for MUSIC AND DANCE OPPORTUNITIES in Brighton.
Brighton 20 February 2018 - Beleza School of Samba will be running an Arts Council funded project to provide a selection of funded places to join classes in percussion and dance.
Beleza School of Samba (formerly Beleza Brighton) formed as a social enterprise in November 2014 as a small dance group performing authentic samba choreography. We are an authentic samba school based in Brighton and inspired by Rio Samba Schools. We teach culture, dance routines, costume production and preparation for stage - building confidence, improving well-being, fitness and self-esteem.
Brighton residents who would like to learn how to dance samba and/or learn how to play drums or samba instruments in our new bateria can sign up for courses throughout 2018.
An 8 week course runs from Sunday March 11th until Sunday April 29th - With a view to perform at Brighton Fringe Festival throughout the month of May.
These sessions are intended for people of all ages, from all backgrounds and no prior experience of dance or samba is required. There will be opportunities to be involved in carnival style performances and parades either as a dancer, bateria or costume-maker. Please note that you will be asked to complete an evaluation at the end of the project if you are awarded a funded place.
FREE Taster session on Sunday March 4th at 4pm at the Dance Station, Unit 4, 57 North Street, Portslade, Brighton BN41 1DH.
