FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BELEZA becomes Samba School achieving ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND FUNDING to offer MUSIC AND DANCE OPPORTUNITIES in Brighton.

Brighton 6 February 2018 – Beleza School of Samba becomes a samba school in January 2018 with the support and partnership of Arts Council England.

Throughout 2018 we will be Offering Arts Council England funded places to create a ‘bateria’ drumming group and dancers for beginners and experienced drummers and percussionists.

Beleza School of Samba (formerly Beleza Brighton) formed as a social enterprise in November 2014 as a small dance group performing authentic samba choreography. We are an authentic samba school based in Brighton and inspired by Rio Samba Schools. We teach culture, dance routines, costume production and preparation for stage - building confidence, improving well-being, fitness and self-esteem.

Beleza annually bring the Brazilian flavour to Brighton streets during the Brighton Fringe and Pride and are excited to be able to expand by offering so many new opportunities. There will be a number of funded places over 4 and 8 week percussion and dance courses in 2018, building up to performances at the Brighton Fringe Festival, Pride Parade and Take Part.

Our primary mission is to share the joy of traditional samba with all sections of the local community.

Beleza is passionate about bringing the community together to participate and enjoy the performance of samba. Everyone can get involved in dance, costume making and playing instruments.
